Water Media Techniques: Acrylic & Casein

( 59:25 )

Stephen Quiller demonstrates the special properties and handling characteristics of acrylic and casein in the introductory portion of the program. These demonstration lessons show how acrylic and casein can be used to create both transparent and opaque washes, impasto textures, and the interaction of the two media, as well as techniques to create special effects. He explains that all water media use the same pigment and that only the binders differ and how an artist handles the different properties. He then creates a demonstration painting illustrating how these two different media may be combined.
